About the Author

Kent is a bassoon player dealing with bouts of computer programming.  He spent a year working toward his master’s degree on the double reed beast at CU Boulder, and ended up going to work for the CU Leeds School of Business as a developer, using the ASP.NET platform, and SQL Server.  He is interested in learning others, such as PHP, and Ruby on Rails, but spends too much time making bassoon reeds to fiddle with those for now.

Among other things he enjoys that he doesn’t really have time for these days is creative writing.   In addition to posting what he attempts to be humorous essays, he enjoys writing short fiction, and after a long day of coding, dreams that one day he might try writing a novel.

He, his wife Mindy, and his two small dogs Abbey and Ashley enjoy living in Boulder, Colorado.

About the Blog

Kent can’t decide what this blog should be about, so, instead of trying to think of one subject, he has decided to make it about three.  Feel free to click on one of the main areas below

All Things Bassoon – This subject is my driving passion right now, so why shouldn’t I be blogging about it?  There must be at least three other readers somewhere out there that might be interested in reed measurements.  I plan to post things I learn about this quirky and amazing double reed instrument, from working on reeds, to excerpt practicing to different fingerings.

Computer Geekery – Probably because of my day job, I have a small interest in all things computer.  Whenever I find something worth reporting from the tech world, you’ll find it here.

Fun Creative Writing – This was the original idea for this blog, although inspiration and time petered out pretty quick.  Nevertheless, posts of this type exist for your reading pleasure.  A subset of this would be the occasional short fiction.

Thanks for reading, and don’t forget to check out the other fine blogs here at Scroggles!
